Pinpoint gives you the ability to display details about the hiring process as part of the job description shown to candidates.

What does this look like?

The penultimate section of a job description will be titled "Our Hiring Process" and will show steps from your hiring process to candidates.

Then, when the candidate clicks on "Find out more", the candidates will be able to see more details about the stages in the hiring workflow.

How do I set this up as part of a Hiring Workflow template?

Step 1: Before posting the Job in Pinpoint, navigate to Settings > Templates > Hiring Workflows, and click on the Hiring Workflow that you want to edit.

Step 2: You'll now see the 'Edit hiring workflow' screen. Click on the pencil icon next to a hiring workflow stage to reveal the Edit stage dialog boxes.

Step 3: Firstly, if you want to show this hiring workflow stage to a candidate, tick the "Show this stage of the hiring process to applicants when they apply" checkbox.

Then, type in the External Name. The External Name will be displayed to applicants when viewing your hiring process on the job description page.

Then you can type in the Stage Description. This is an optional field, but we recommend you enter in a short paragraph explaining this stage of the hiring workflow to make it clear to candidates what to expect.

Note: Stage Descriptions will only show when every hiring stage shown externally has a Stage Description.

Once you've finished making your edits for this stage, click on 'Save Stage'.

Step 4: Repeat this for every stage in your hiring workflow. Once you have finished making changes to your hiring workflow, click on the exit button in the top right of the Edit hiring workflow screen.

Any job you create going forward using this template will show the stage names and descriptions you've set.

Note: if you make changes to a Hiring Workflow template, these changes will be reflected only in future jobs created using this Hiring Workflow template.

If you have multiple hiring workflows, this could be a good opportunity to review your workflows to ensure that your desired stage names and descriptions are visible to candidates.

How do I set this up for an individual Job?

You may want to make changes to a specific Job's stage names and descriptions. The logic is broadly the same as described above, but you'll need to go to the individual Job to make changes.

To learn how to edit the hiring workflow stages for a job, follow the steps in our guide Can I Edit the Interview Stages? to learn how to get to editing the workflow stages, and then follow the steps outlined above to make changes to the Show this stage externally, Stage Names, Stage Descriptions options.

What if I don't want to show any hiring workflow stages to candidates at all?

Ask Pinpoint Support or your Customer Success representative to override the settings in your Hiring Workflow templates and hide all hiring workflow stage descriptions to candidates across all of your Jobs. We do not recommend this, as we find hiding the stages of the hiring process can negatively impact the candidate experience.
