Pinpoint's roles system allows you to define which platform functions a team member has access too.

Most roles are additive, so for example, your Administrators will likely have all roles assigned to them, where Hiring Managers or Recruiters may only have roles like Job Manager and Offer Manager assigned to them.

We've laid out the functionality each Role provides below:

Roles that every user has by default

Interviewer

  • Every user of Pinpoint has the interviewer role by default and it can’t be removed.

  • Interviewers can be assigned to an interview team and take part in interviews.

  • Interviewers can see the application details, comments and scorecards for any applicant they are assigned as an interviewer for.

Roles that you may want to assign to your Recruiters and Hiring Managers

Job Manager

Job managers can manage jobs that they have visibility over. Job managers can:

  • Create new and edit existing jobs (but only for the department / locations they have visibility over)

  • Open, close and archive (but not unarchive) jobs

If their visibility settings give them access to a job, job managers can

  • View all candidates and scorecards

  • Add candidates to a job manually

  • See the job insights view

  • Configure and schedule interviews

  • Manage share links and create QR codes for the job

Important Note: There is some overlap with the ‘Interview Manager’ role. Job managers don’t need that role at all. They have permissions to manage interviews without it.

Interview Manager

Important Note: Job Managers get this ability by default, and don't need this role.

Interview mangers can:

  • Configure interviews and invite candidates to interview. This can only be done on jobs that the user has access to.

Comment Manager

Allows users to create comments on a candidate's application.

Talent Pipeline Manager

Talent pipeline managers have access to the talent pipeline system. Talent Pipeline Managers can:

  • View candidates for all departments and locations in the Talent Pipeline

  • Configure and view completed scorecards for Talent Pipeline candidates

  • View the Talent Pipeline tab on any jobs they have visibility over

  • Configuring interviews and inviting talent pipeline candidates to interview

  • Configuring the settings for the talent pipeline (including managing the questions asked or disabling the ‘Register your interest’ area all together

Offer Manager

Allows users the ability to create and retract offers on a candidate as well as view offers that have been sent to them.

Note: Even with the role offers can’t be created unless the candidate is at the offer stage.

Draft Job Creator

Draft job creators are only allowed to create jobs in a draft state, as opposed to the ‘Job Manager’ who can create jobs as draft or live. Jobs created by a ‘Draft Job Creator’ need to be published by someone with a higher level of permissions. As with the ‘Job Manager’ you can only create draft jobs in locations / departments that you have visibility over.

Requisition Manager

Allows users to create new job requisitions and create jobs from approved requisitions.

Requisition Creator

Allows users to view requisitions, but not create jobs from approved requisitions.

Background Check Creator

Important Note: This role is only relevant if you use a background checking integration in your Pinpoint platform.

Allows users to request that an applicant complete a background check. They can also view it once it’s done.

Background Check Viewer

Important Note: This role is only relevant if you use a background checking integration in your Pinpoint platform.

Allows users to see the background check section of an applicant, but they can’t request that applicants complete a background check.

Comment Viewer

Allows users to view comments on a candidate's application, but not make comments themselves
