You can now add a YouTube or Vimeo video to your email templates.
Because email apps can't play video inside a message, Pinpoint adds the video as a thumbnail image with a play button. When the recipient clicks it, the video opens in their browser on YouTube or Vimeo. The video sits after the email body, before your signature and any call-to-action button.
We support public YouTube and Vimeo links only. You can't upload a video file directly to the templates.
How to add a video to a template
Step 1: Open the email template
Open an existing email template, or create a new one.
Step 2: Add the video link
Turn on the video option and paste your YouTube or Vimeo link into the field.
Step 3: Check the preview
Pinpoint pulls the thumbnail from the provider and shows it with a play button. Use the preview to confirm it appears where you expect - after the body, before the signature and call to action.
Step 4: Save
Save the template. Any email sent using it will include the video thumbnail, which links out to the hosted video.
Troubleshooting
My link isn't accepted. Only YouTube and Vimeo links are supported, and the video needs to be viewable without a login. Direct file uploads aren't supported.
No thumbnail appears. Check the link points to a single video (not a playlist or channel) and that the video is public or unlisted.
