Enabling Indeed Apply

Have candidates apply to your roles without ever leaving Indeed.

You’ve always been able to use our Indeed XML feed to have your jobs posted automatically to Indeed and enable candidates to apply through your careers site.

But (especially for high volume roles) you can get as many as 4 times more applicants when candidates can apply directly on Indeed.

Pinpoint is one of the first applicant tracking systems to implement the new Indeed Apply integration enabling job seekers to apply directly to roles in Pinpoint without ever leaving the Indeed page.

  • Important: Indeed Apply will only work if you have already set up your Indeed XML feed with your indeed account representative, or via Indeed's technical support channel for free accounts. For more information on how to do that, click here.


How do I setup Indeed Apply?

Step 1: Visit and log in to your Indeed account if you're prompted to do so. https://secure.indeed.com/account/apikeys

Step 2: From the page that appears, you'll need to click on the Register New Application button.

Step 3: Fill in the Application name and Website sections. These are for your own benefit and don't affect the way the system works, but we suggest the application name be Pinpoint so you can find these details easily in the future.

Step 4: For the Credential Type, make sure you choose the Indeed Apply option, NOT OAuth 2.0.

Step 5: Once you have completed and submitted this information, you should now be able to see the newly registered Pinpoint application. The important pieces you will need are the Client ID and Client Secret. You may need to click on the Edit button in this section to get the client secret, as it's not always shown on the application page directly.

Step 6: Log into Pinpoint and navigate to the Settings > Integrations menu.

Step 7: From this menu, click on the Apps button and find the Indeed option. When you've located it, click the Add button.

Step 8. Copy and Paste your Indeed Client ID and Client Secret into the fields of the same title in Pinpoint and then choose Save.

Step 9: Once that's done, you can click the Enable toggle in the top right hand corner to complete the process and enable Indeed Apply for your Pinpoint jobs.

It can take up to 24 hours for Indeed to add the Indeed Apply button onto your Indeed postings, but once they do, candidates will then be able to apply to your Pinpoint jobs without needing to leave indeed.


Can candidates using Indeed Apply still fill in a role's pre-screening questions?

Absolutely. The questions are included in our feed to Indeed so the candidate will be asked to complete them from within Indeed before they can finish an application.
