Hiring Copilot is a great tool we encourage you to use as often as you'd like!
As it's a token-based feature, there are a few things you can do to reduce the amount of tokens you're spending, while still getting the same quality of assistance you're expecting from Copilot.
Reducing Token Usage
To reduce token usage:
Start a fresh conversation for each new task or candidate - This is the biggest win. When you move on to something new, open a new Copilot chat rather than continuing the old one, so it isn’t carrying days of history with every question.
Assess candidates in smaller batches - Asking Copilot to review a whole stage at once (for example, 20 or 30 candidates) pulls every CV into the conversation in one go. Reviewing a handful at a time, or one candidate per conversation, keeps things much lighter.
Keep transcript reviews in their own conversation - Call transcripts are long, so reviewing each one in a separate chat stops them from building up and being re-read on every later question.
Paste in a short summary if you need context - If you want Copilot to remember earlier decisions, such as your shortlist or key competencies, start a new chat and paste in a brief summary rather than carrying on in the old thread.
ℹ️ Note
If you follow these best practices and still see your token usage being quite high, reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or our Support team - we'll be happy to look into it for you!
