How do I build a report to show me the Organisational Structure Relationships in Pinpoint, using the report builder?

Written by Emilia Carvell

What is a Relationships Summary Report?

Relationships Summary reports (also known as Structure Link reports) let you export data about how your company structure connects together, including how departments, locations, and other structural areas relate to one another. Reports can be exported in CSV format via the report builder.

Data available includes location details — such as location name and address — alongside their associated departments. Companies with additional structural layers, such as divisions, can also include these in their report.

How can I build a Structure report?

Users will need the "Create and View" custom reports permission to access the report builder. Reports are visibility dependant and will only show data within the visibility of the user running the report.

Steps

  1. Go to Insights > Reports

  2. Click Build New Report in the top-right corner

  3. Select Relationship Summary from the base reports panel on the right. This pre-populates the most commonly used columns — you can edit or remove these later

  4. Use the Filters at the top of the report to narrow results by fields such as location or department

How do I run or save a Relationship/Structure link Report?

Once your report is configured, you have two options:

Option 1 – Run the report

Click Run Report to generate the data immediately. You'll be taken to a report preview where you can download the full report as a CSV. You can also save it as a template from this screen if you haven't already.

⚠️ Reports cannot be saved as templates after leaving this screen.

Option 2 – Save as a template Click Save as Template and give it a name to reuse the report later.

From the template screen you can:

  • Edit the report

  • Duplicate it

  • Manage access (edit or view-only)

  • Schedule the report to run automatically on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis
