How do I report on application question responses?

You may have a number of questions added to your job applications to collect an array of information on your candidates. You can create a custom candidate report to view and export that data via Pinpoint's reporting feature.

Report Builder is available on our Unlimited plans, or as an Add-On to any other plan. Speak to your Customer Success Specialist for more details.

​Note: You will need to have the Analytics and Reporting permission setting enabled to 'Create and View custom report' to make the report builder visible in your platform.

From the left navigation menu of your dashboard, select the Report tab under Insights.

On the Reports page, select the button to Build A New Report located at the top right of the page.

On the following page, select 'Candidate' from the Report Type dropdown menu, and then Next.

This will take you to the report builder page. You can then click into the search bar under the Edit Columns section, and scroll down until you locate the Questions section.

There, you can select which application question responses you want to include in your report by selecting the checkbox to the left of the question.

Once you have selected the questions in which you want to view response data for, you add filters to the report to narrow down the results by a variety of parameters. You can do this by selecting the + Add Filter button to the top right of the page, and then select your parameters from the respective dropdown menus.

Once you have added your Column choices and filter parameters, you are ready to run the report, and can do this by selecting the Run button at the top of the page. The system will generate the report and display the data in the platform on the same page.

From here, you can either save the report as a template to use in the future, by selecting the Save As A Template option, or you can download the report by selecting the Download button, which will export the data in CSV format.
