Pinpoint's Sapling integration allows you to send your hired candidates' details into Sapling.
This help guide is divided into 2 parts:
Setting up Pinpoint's Sapling integration
You'll need to have the Company permission assigned to your Pinpoint account in order for you to set up any integrations in Pinpoint. If you're not sure how to assign user permissions, please follow the steps in our guide How do I grant Permissions to an individual user?
Add Sapling integration to Pinpoint
From Pinpoint's left hand navigation bar, select the Integrations option to go to the integrations setup page.
Select the Apps tab at the top of this page, and then search for, or scroll down until you see, the Sapling option. Once you have located it, click the Add button.
Locate and Generate API Key in Sapling
Sapling users with Super Admin permissions can generate and view their own API keys. More detail on this in Sapling's article Sapling - Custom Permissions In Sapling.
Go to the “Integrations” page of your Sapling account
Navigate to the API Keys tab
Click on the "Create New Key" button, or copy an existing key.
Be sure to name your key descriptively, so you know how each application uses that key
Select whether you would like the API key to expire after 90 days or automatically renew when used.
Click "Create", then copy your new API key. Once you click "Save" you will no longer have access to the key itself.
We strongly recommend that you select "Automatically renew the API key when a call is made to that key". Otherwise, this API key will expire 90 days after it is generated, and the integration will stop working.

Enter API key and subdomain into Pinpoint
Return to Pinpoint.
Enter your API key in the API key field, and enter your Sapling Subdomain in the Sapling subdomain field.
Click Save. Click on the toggle 'Disabled' one time, it will toggle on and show 'Enabled'.
You have now completed the Sapling integration setup!
How do I send a candidate to Sapling?
Open a candidate's profile from a job's candidate list and from the action button (the three small dots) above their details, select the Send to Sapling option.
A form will be displayed on the page, which will look like this:
Pinpoint will take you through a series of fields to fill in.
Required fields:
First Name. This is populated based on the candidate details in Pinpoint.
Last Name. This is populated based on the candidate details in Pinpoint.
Personal Email Address. This is populated based on the candidate details in Pinpoint.
Start Date. Please select the new hire's start date.
Optional fields:
Job Title. This is populated based on the candidate details in Pinpoint.
Location. Select from the list. This list is automatically populated from your Sapling account
Department. Select from the list. This list is automatically populated from your Sapling account.
Once you have completed the required fields, press the Send to Sapling button at the bottom of the form. This will create your candidate as a pending hire in Sapling.
